FT. MYERS, Fla.--The Marquette women's tennis team (10-9) dropped a close 5-2 decision at Florida Gulf Coast on Sunday afternoon. The Golden Eagles will now have a 12-day break before returning home to conclude regular season action on April 17.

Florida Gulf Coast claimed the first point of the day winning two doubles matches. Ana Pimienta and Erin Gebes went unfinished at No. 1 doubles after the Eagles wrapped up a doubles win.

Paula Tormos Sanchez won her singles match, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 at the No. 5 position, while Vanessa Foltinger claimed a victory at No. 6 singles, 6-1, 6-3.

Diana Tokar was narrowly bested 6-4, 6-7, 5-10 at her No. 3 singles match, which failed to secure a third point for Marquette.

The Golden Eagles host BIG EAST opponent, DePaul on Friday, April 17. First serve begins at 3:00 p.m. CT at the Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
