Marquette Tops West Virginia, 5-2

MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University women's tennis team extended its winning streak to six straight with a 5-2 victory over West Virginia Saturday morning at the Connecticut Tennis Courts in Storrs, Conn.
The Golden Eagles (16-7) rallied from down three points in doubles play at the No. 1 and 3 spots to go on and sweep all the matches and capture the doubles point, which give MU an early 1-0 lead.
West Virginia's (7-12) only points came from victories at the No. 2 and 3 spots in singles play. Marquette clinched the match with four wins in singles competition. Senior Rachael Hush won at the No. 4 spot in a tight, 7-6(5), 7-5, match against West Virginia's Veronica Cardenas. Chelsea Utting sealed the victory for the Golden Eagles by beating Ashley Pilsbury, 6-2, 6-0, in the No. 5 slot.
The Golden Eagles will cap the weekend at Providence Saturday afternoon.
