Marquette Caps Weekend With 6-1 Win At Omaha

The Marquette University women’s tennis team earned its fourth-straight win on Sunday afternoon, downing Omaha 6-1 on the road in non-conference action.

The Golden Eagles opened the match by claiming the doubles point with wins at all three positions. The tandem of Silvia Ambrosio and Paula Tormos Sanchez narrowly edged its opponent from Omaha, winning 7-6 (7-5).

Tormos Sanchez, Fleur Eggink and Lesley Foe all posted straight-set victories and for the second-straight day Ambrosio rallied for a win at No. 1 singles after dropping the first set. Diana Tokar also earned a singles decision for Marquette.

MU returns to action on Thursday, April 13 when the team travels to the College of Charleston for a 1 p.m. CT opening serve.
