The Marquette University women's tennis team (12-8) swept a pair of non-conference matchups at the Helfaer Tennis Stadium Friday afternoon, downing Cincinnati 7-0 before posting a 7-0 win over Chicago State.

The Golden Eagles, who will conclude the regular season at DePaul on April 19, honored senior Rocio Diaz during to the match against Chicago State. The Buenos Aires, Argentina, native will conclude her standout career with over 100 singles and doubles victories and has served as team captain for two seasons.

Diaz and sophomore Erin Gebes clinched the doubles point for the Golden Eagles against the Bearcats. MU quickly rattled off three singles wins to clinch the team victory before posting a pair of tiebreaker decisions to cap the sweep of the squad's former BIG EAST Conference opponent. Sophomore Laia Hernandez Soler clinched the team win with a 6-4, 6-1 win at the No. 6 position.

Marquette also claimed the valuable doubles point against CSU, with junior Ana Pimienta and sophomore Aina Hernandez Soler clinching it at No. 3 with an 8-4 decision. MU swept all three doubles matchups.

The Golden Eagles continued the momentum into singles play, posting three straight-set wins at the bottom of the lineup. Aina Hernandez Soler earned the team victory with a decision at No. 4 singles.
