MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University women's tennis team continued its nine-match road trip, falling to the College of Charleston, 6-1, in South Carolina on Thursday afternoon.

The doubles duo of Silvia Ambrosio and Paula Tormos Sanchez, ranked No. 88, fell to the College of Charleston duo of Fieldsend/McNeely, 6-2. Charleston would then clinch the doubles point, as the No. 3 duo of Woodson/Yates, outlasted Lesley Foe and Isabella Franks, 6-2.

The Golden Eagles lone point of the afternoon came when Courtney Hebard defeated Helena Nyikos, 6-3, 6-4. In other singles action, Ambrosio was able to force a third set tiebreaker, before being bested by Liza Fieldsend.

Marquette will now return home for two matches against BIG EAST foes, DePaul and Seton Hall, on Apr. 21 and 23, respectively. Following those two matches, the Golden Eagles will prepare for the BIG EAST Tournament, from Apr. 27-30.
