CINCINNATI, Ohio - After dropping the doubles point to open Sunday's match, the Marquette women's tennis squad (11-11) bounced back to defeat Cincinnati, 4-3 at the Traebert-Talbert Tennis Center.

"We didn't have our best day on the court after dropping the doubles point," assistant coach Aniela Neubergersaid. "We found a way to win four singles matches and we are happy for our team that we were able to pull out another victory."

The Bearcats were able to win every set in the doubles competition to set the tone early for the match, winning the first point.

It was sophomore Ali Dawson who clinched the match for the Golden Eagles in singles competition. The score was tied 3-3 as she fought back after dropping her opening set at No. 5 singles, to give MU a match victory. Dawson defeated Hannah Wille, 6-7, 6-2, 7-6. Also earning singles victories on Sunday was Gebes in the No. 2 spot in a 6-4, 6-3 decision, Vanessa Foltingerin No. 6 singles, 6-2, 6-1 and Diaz, who came back from falling in her first set to win, 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 at No. 4.
