MILWAUKEE--The Marquette women's tennis team (10-10) returned home for the first time in a month, but fell in a 6-1 decision to No. 37 DePaul at Helfaer Tennis Stadium.

The Golden Eagles were swept in doubles to open the match. Ana Pimienta and Erin Gebes fought hard at the No. 1 slot to extend their match before falling, 8-4.

Gebes gave Marquette its lone point in the match as she stormed back from a 6-2 first-set deficit and won the second, 6-1 and a 1-0 tiebreak at the No. 2 position.

Ali Dawson faltered, 2-6, 0-6 on court No. 4, while Diana Tokar fell in a 1-6, 4-6 decision in the No. 3 position. A loss from Pimienta in the No. 1 singles spot clinched the victory for the Blue Demons, 2-6, 1-6.

The Golden Eagles will be back in action on Sunday, April 19 at 9 a.m. CT when they host conference-for, Seton Hall. Free coffee and donuts will be handed out to those in attendance and there will be a Fitbit giveaway for students.
