No. 2 Seed USF Tops Marquette, 4-0, at BIG EAST Championship

TAMPA, Fla. - The Marquette University women's tennis team fell 4-0 to No. 2 seed USF on the second day of competition Friday at the 2012 BIG EAST Championship in Tampa. Marquette (12-11) will move to the consolation bracket and will play No. 5 seed Georgetown on Saturday. The Bulls took the early lead winning two doubles matches. The No. 2 duo of Rocio Diaz and Ali Dawson fell 8-3 to Alessandra Bonte and Kate Parker, while Ecaterina Vasenina and Loreto Alonso Martinez defeated Kristina Radan and Ana Pimienta, 8-2, at No. 1 to go ahead, 1-0. USF clinched the match with wins at the top of the singles lineup. Martinez topped Diaz, 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2, Gillian Hush fell 6-2, 6-0 to Vasenina at No. 1 and Fanny Fracassi dropped Dawson, 6-0, 6-3, at No. 3 to cap the 4-0 sweep. USF 4, Marquette 0
