Milwaukee-After a competitive weekend of tournament play, the Marquette women's tennis team returns from Ann Arbor, Mich., where it played in the Wolverine Invitational, hosted by the University of Michigan.

In the final day of play, Francina Bonnelly beat Western Michigan's Malena Remynse, 7-6 (4), 6-1, in the "Maize" division. Also in that division, Katherine Nasteva fell to Heidi Romer of Bowling Green, 1-6, 6-1 (10-7). Both matches were played in extra rounds.

In the "Wolverine" bracket, Andrea Bukacek was defeated by Karen Gustafson of Michigan State, 6-0, 6-1.

The Golden Eagles play next in Mesa, Ariz., at the Arizona State tournament, October 10-12.
