BLOOMINGTON, Ind.--The Marquette University women's tennis team opened the first day of play at the IU Regional winning all singles matches in the first round of play on Indiana University's campus.

Playing in Flight 3 singles, Fleur Eggink and Paula Tormos Sanchez both advanced in the bracket as Eggink won her match with ease, 6-2, 6-1. Tormos Sanchez played tough to defeat Western Michigan's Denise Azcui, 6-4, 3-6, (10-5).

In round robin action, Diana Tokar and Courtney Hebard won their matches, 7-5, 6-0 and 6-1, 6-4, respectively, while Isabella Franks breezed past SIUC, 6-0, 6-0 in round robin draw #5.

In doubles action Tokar and Tormos Sanchez teamed for an 8-3 victory in their opening match, but dropped the second, 8-4.

Action on the courts resume on Saturday morning in Bloomington.
