MEMPHIS--The Marquette women's tennis team headed back to the Memphis Collegiate Invitational Saturday morning and racked up additional victories, while reaching the finals in a doubles draw.

Junior Vanessa Foltinger and sophomore Laia Hernandez Soler reached the doubles championship in the gray draw with an 8-3 victory over the duo from Chattanooga. MU's tandem will play Sunday at 8 a.m.

The other two Golden Eagles' doubles squads, senior Rocio Diaz and junior Ali Dawson and junior Ana Pimienta and sophomore Erin Gebes, reached the consolation final in the blue doubles draw. Diaz/Dawson won their match 8-7 (1), while Pimienta/Gebes played to an 8-5 final. The draws for Sunday were re-worked so the teammates would not play against each other. Play will begin at 8 a.m. on Sunday.

In the orange singles draw on the consolation side, Diaz came back to defeat Claire Mulyadi from Chattanooga, 6-7 (8), 6-1, 6-1, while Foltinger was again successful in the pink draw, round robin after defeating Chole Herdeen from Miami Ohio, 6-3, 6-3, for the second consecutive day. She will face Ansley Boarman at 10:45 on Sunday on the outdoor courts.

Gebes advanced to the consolation final in the white draw after she bested ACU's Erin Walker, 1-6, 6-4, 7-5. She will play on Sunday at 9:15 a.m.

Sunday is the final day at the Memphis Invite and MU will have just one fall tournament left on its slate to be played next weekend.
