Women's Tennis Wraps Up Bronco Super Challenge

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Marquette University women's tennis team concluded their successful fall tournament slate with an impressive showing on day three at the Bronco Super Challenge at Western Michigan.
Sophomore Paula Tormos Sanchez wrapped up her fall with a third place finish in Flight C, defeating Danielle Wolf of Indiana. After losing the first set, Sanchez battled back and won the next two sets to take home the victory.
In the same flight, Aleeza Kanner was defeated by Adorabol Huckleby (Iowa) in the consolation championship.
In Flight B, Diana Tokar won the consolation championship by taking down Louisville product Ariana Rodriguez (6-3, 7-6 (4)). After losing her first match of the tournament in three sets, Tokar won her next two in the consolation ladder.
In round robin play, Courtney Hebard lost her first set of the day, but battled back to defeat Montana Crawford of Iowa. Hebard was one of two players to finish with a 2-1 record in the flight.
After a two month hiatus from sanctioned competition, the Golden Eagles will return to the court in Bloomington, Ind. as part of the Hoosier Winter Classic on Jan. 16-18. The tournament will be MU's last before dual season starts with a matchup against crosstown-foe, Milwaukee.
After dual season, Marquette will play for an automatic bid in the BIG EAST Conference Championship Apr. 28-May 1.
