Women's Tennis travels to Indiana

MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University women's tennis team will open the 2014 season at the Indiana Invitational in Bloomington, Ind. Day one of the three-day competition will begin Saturday, Jan. 18 at 10 a.m. Central time with eight matches in round one of doubles.

The Golden Eagles are coming off a two-month break after concluding fall competition at Western Michigan. Junior Ali Dawson went 2-1 in singles matches and the junior duo of Ana Pimientaand Dawson captured two victories in the consolation doubles bracket in the final tournament.

In last season's outing at the Indiana Invitational, Rocio Diaz won two singles matches on the weekend as well as capturing two doubles matches with teammate Erin Gebes. The Golden Eagles notched three singles victories on the final day of singles play with Diaz, Gebes, and Laia Hernandez-Soler earning wins.

Play will conclude at noon CT.
