Women's Tennis Handles Milwaukee, 6-1
The Marquette University women's tennis team topped Milwaukee 6-1 Saturday at the Helfaer Tennis Stadium.

Last time out, the Golden Eagles completed a successful run at the IU Winter Invitational in Bloomington, Ind. Over the course of the three-day event, Marquette players accumulated a 5-2 record, and captured a doubles championship behind the pair of senior Erin Gebes and freshman Silvia Ambrosio.

The duos of Paula Tormos Sanchez and Aleeza Kanner, and Diana Tokar and Courtney Hebard also represented MU well in Indiana, with each pair picking up 6-2 victories over Wright State.

The tilt with Marquette will mark the first competition of the 2016 calendar for Milwaukee, while IUPUI has already taken the court twice this season, suffering 7-0 defeats in both contests.

The match-ups against the Panthers and Jaguars will be the first of a four match home stand for the Golden Eagles. MU's next match is scheduled for Jan. 29, against UIC at 12 p.m. CT, at the Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
