Jan. 24, 2013
MILWAUKEE - The Marquette Universisty women's tennis team will continue its three-match road trip this weekend when it heads to Bloomington, Ind. for a contest against Indiana on Saturday, Jan. 26. Doubles action is set to begin at 10 a.m. CT.
Marquette (1-1) is coming off a 6-1 victory over Montana in Minneapolis, last weekend. The Golden Eagles swept doubles as sophomore Ali Dawson paired up with junior Rocio Diaz for an 8-3 victory over Heather Davidson and Laurence Pelchat at the No. 1 spot. Marquette fell short of completing the sweep as Diaz fell in the No. 2 singles slot, 6-3, 1-6, 10-7.
The No. 49 Hoosiers (2-0) are looking to continue their winning streak this weekend as they have only dropped two sets over the course of the spring season.
Coming off two 7-0 victories, the Hoosiers blanked Miami (OH) and Cincinnati to claim the dual match last weekend. Dropping only three games in singles play, Leslie Hureau of Indiana will be a tough contest for MU.
This will be the Hoosier's first home match of the season. The Golden Eagles will begin their first homestand on February 1 against UIC.
