Women's Tennis Welcomes Trio of Opponents

MILWAUKEE - After dropping their second match of the spring season to No. 50 Indiana, the Marquette women's tennis team welcome a trio of Horizon League opponents to the Helfaer Tennis Stadium this weekend.
The Golden Eagles are set to host UIC, Milwaukee, and Green Bay over the course of this upcoming weekend. Marquette will dual against UIC on Friday at 4p.m. and finish up play on Sunday against fellow Wisconsin schools Milwaukee (10 a.m.) and Green Bay (3:30 p.m.).
After falling to No. 50 Indiana this past weekend, the Golden Eagles are looking to rebound and get three victories this weekend. Marquette did not win a set against Indiana in either singles or doubles play. At the No. 2 singles slot, Junior Rocio Diaz had a close match against Alecia Lauss, as Diaz fell 7-6 (2), 6-3.
UIC comes off a tough contest at the Purdue Hidden Dual in West Lafayette, Ind. Facing No. 27 Purdue and No. 65 Depaul, the Flames were only able to take one set over the course of the tournament. UIC is looking to capture its first win of the fall season.
Milwaukee is set to Face nationally ranked DePaul (No. 65) on Friday before they square off the Golden Eagles on Sunday. The Panthers are coming off a 5-2 loss to Ball State and will be given a difficult match against No. 65 DePaul. The Panthers are 1-1 thus far in the spring season, claiming a 6-1 victory of IUPUI on January 25.
This will be Green Bay's first match of the spring season. The Phoenix split dual matches defeating UW-Oshkosh 5-4 and losing to UW- La Crosse 3-6. Green Bay captured just one set at the Panther Invitational, the last of their fall play.
