MILWAUKEE- The Marquette University women's tennis team will travel to Ames, Iowa Friday Feb. 8 to take on the Cyclones of Iowa State. Match play will begin at 1 p.m. CT. at the Ames Racquet & Fitness’ indoor tennis center.

Marquette went a perfect 3-0 in its opening homestand last weekend at Helfaer Tennis Stadium, registering wins against Illinois-Chicago, Milwaukee, and Green Bay.

Iowa State opened the dual meet portion of its schedule with a 6-1 loss against in-state rival Iowa. Senior Jenna Langhorst grabbed the lone win for the Cyclones, registering a three-set victory over her opponent.

Sophomore Ana Pimienta was named the GoMarquette.com Student-Athlete of the Week after going a combined 6-0 in No. 1 singles and No. 2 doubles action, while helping the team record a perfect 3-0 weekend.

After the action in Ames on Friday, Marquette will return to Milwaukee Monday Feb. 11 at 4:30 p.m. CT for a matchup against Western Michigan. The matchup against the Western Michigan Broncos marks the first of four consecutive home matches for the Golden Eagles.
