MILWAUKEE - After a two-match road trip the Marquette University women's tennis team returns to the Helfaer Tennis Stadium to kickoff a six-match homestand on Thursday, Feb. 9, when it hosts cross-town rival Milwaukee at 5 p.m.

Marquette (3-1) had its three-match winning streak snapped on Feb. 5, dropping a 5-2 decision to Western Michigan in Kalamazoo, Mich. To start the 2012 campaign, MU has looked to its seniors for points. Gillian Hush and Olga Fischer are a combined 7-1 in singles play and the duo has teamed up to post an unblemished 4-0 mark in doubles matches at the No. 1 position.

Milwaukee is off to a 3-1 start as well, with its only defeat coming on Jan. 22 against Wisconsin in the form of a 7-0 sweep. Since its loss to the Badgers, Milwaukee has posted 6-1 and 7-0 wins over Chicago State and Bradley, respectively. The Panthers are led by Maddy Soule, last season's Horizon League Newcomer of the Year, who is 3-1 in singles play at the No. 1 spot. Freshman Chelsea Bailey has also been a stronghold for Milwaukee, going 3-1 in No. 2 singles.

Marquette has won 21 consecutive matches over Milwaukee. Last year, the Golden Eagles captured a 7-0 sweep of the Panthers at the Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
