Women's Tennis Set for Three-Match Home-Stand

MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University women's tennis (2-2) team prepares for a three-match home-stand beginning Feb. 15 vs. Iowa at the Helfaer Tennis Stadium. First serve is slated to begin at 11 a.m. Central time.
The Blue and Gold will face Western Illinois later that day at 5 p.m. and conclude the home-stand vs. Milwaukee on Wednesday, Feb. 19.
Last time out, MU fell to Western Michigan, 5-2, on Feb. 9 in Kalamazoo. Sophomore Erin Gebes and junior Vanessa Foltinger picked up the two singles points, beating their opponents 6-2, 6-3 and 6-2, 7-5, respectively. At the No. 1 singles position, junior Ana Pimienta fell to Nini Sujasjvili 6-2, 4-6, 12-10.
Three out of the last four singles matches for Pimienta have been decided by a 10-point tiebreaker.
Iowa is looking to get back on the right track against Marquette after a 5-2 loss to No. 74 DePaul on Feb. 9. Last season, the Hawkeyes defeated the Golden Eagles 5-2 in Iowa City, Iowa.
Western Illinois is still looking for its first win of the season. Failing to pick up a point so far this season, the Leathernecks have a combined dual-match score of 0-35.
