Women's Tennis Travels to Instate-Rival Wisconsin

MILWAUKEE- The Marquette University women's tennis team heads west to take on instate-rival Wisconsin Wednesday Feb. 20 at 5 p.m. CT.

After seeing their five-game winning streak snapped at the hands of conference-rival DePaul Friday Feb. 15, the Golden Eagles (8-3) quickly responded by sweeping a pair of matches against Ball State and Valparaiso on Sunday Feb. 17.

Against Ball State Marquette claimed the doubles point and went on to win four matches in singles play tallying a score of 5-2. In the second match of the doubleheader against Valparaiso, MU recorded perfect a 7-0 sweep.

Wisconsin (1-5) comes in riding a two-game losing streak, most recently falling to BIG EAST foe Louisville 7-0 on Feb. 16. Capturing the doubles point has alluded the Badgers of late, having dropped the point in six-consecutive matches.

The matchup against Wisconsin is the first of six-straight road contests for MU, with stops coming at Iowa, Rutgers, West Virginia, UC Irvine and San Diego State.
