Women’s Tennis Hosts Northern Illinois and Milwaukee This Weekend

MILWAUKEE—The Marquette women’s tennis team hosts Northern Illinois and Milwaukee on Friday and Saturday, respectively. First serve is slated for 5 p.m. Central time on Friday and 12 p.m. CT on Saturday.
The Golden Eagles (3-5) most recently suffered a 7-0 loss to Iowa on Sunday afternoon. Andrea Amortegui threatened to take the fourth singles match for Marquette and she also played well in doubles action with Fleur Eggnik, dropping their match 6-4.
Northern Illinois (4-5) heads into action after a 7-0 loss to DePaul on Sunday afternoon in Chicago. The Huskies are 0-4 on the road. Their last win came on Feb. 17 in a close 4-3 matchup with Eastern Illinois. The Golden Eagles have downed the Huskies in each of the last eight meetings between the two teams.
Milwaukee (2-8) is coming off a two-match win streak against South Dakota State and Chicago State on Feb. 24 and Feb. 25, in their first wins of the season. Labina Petrovska and Anna Daniel Fuentes accounted for the lone doubles win against Chicago State on Sunday. The Golden Eagles have taken down the Panthers in each of the last 12 seasons.
Following the two-match homestand, the Golden Eagles will travel to Miami to take on Columbia March 13 and Florida International on March 17.
