Women's Tennis Prepares for USF

Milwaukee- After defeating Illinois State 6-1 on Sunday, March 24., the Marquette women's tennis team will return to action this weekend as they will square off against No. 53 USF in Tampa, Fl on Saturday, March 30., at 10 a.m. CT. 

The Golden Eagles (10-8), are coming of a much-needed victory that ended a five-match losing streak, giving them their first win in six matches. Freshman Erin Gebes continued her stellar play by winning 13 of her last 15 matches. Gebes cruised past ISU's Phyllis Tigges 6-2, 6-2.

The Bulls have had much success on their home court, posting a 6-2 record over the spring campaign. Both losses have come to ranked opponents, most recently to No. 33 N.C. State on March 6. USF is coming off a 4-3 win over Harvard, Katie Vasenina handled Hideko Tachibana 6-4, 6-0 at the No. 1 singles slot. 

The Bulls host Tulane on Thursday, March 28, before welcoming the Golden Eagles to the USF Varsity Tennis Courts.
