Marquette Taking on Butler and Indiana in Road Contests

MILWAUKEE—The Marquette women’s tennis team heads to Indiana for a pair of weekend matches against Butler April 1 at noon Central time and at Indiana University April 2 at 10 a.m. CT.
The Golden Eagles face another BIG EAST opponent at Butler Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs bring a 4-14 record into the weekend matchup and lost 5-2 to Cincinnati in their most recent action. Marquette will look to bounce back against Butler after dropping a 5-2 decision against Xavier. In the match against the Musketeers, Fleur Eggink and Lesley Foe notched the two points for Marquette. In their last contest against Butler, the Golden Eagles took home a dominating 7-0 victory on their home court.
Following the match against Butler, Marquette heads to Bloomington, Ind. to battle the Hoosiers on their home court. Indiana is 10-8 on the season, but has dropped its past two matches to Michigan and Michigan State. The Golden Eagles played Indiana last year, eventually falling in a 5-2 contest in Bloomington.
Marquette will look to build on an 8-5 record and its 2-1 away record with the pair of road matches. Following these contests, the Golden Eagles continue their season-long nine game road trip with a showdown at BIG EAST foe Creighton April 8 at 1 p.m. CT.
