Marquette Concludes the Regular Season at Cincinnati and Louisville

MILWAUKEE - Coming off a loss to No. 25 Notre Dame, the Marquette University women's tennis team will square off against two BIG EAST opponents in their final road trip of the season. The Golden Eagles travel to Louisville (April 13) and Cincinnati (April 14) to close out the regular season. Both matches are slated to begin at 10 a.m. CT.
Marquette (10-10) dropped its final home match of the season, surrendering a 6-1 loss to the Fighting Irish. Laia Hernandez Soler battled Julie Sabacinski for 2-6, 6-2, 11-9 victory. This is Hernadez Soler's second singles victory in as many matches.
After coming off a loss to No. 26 Tulsa, Louisville (11-6) will travel to Marshall (April 10, 12 p.m.,) before hosting Marquette (April 13, 10 a.m.,) and DePaul (April 14 12 p.m.,) at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center. The Cardinals came up short against the Hurricanes, falling by a score of 5-2. U of L captured a singles point thanks to junior Rebecca Shine, winning at the No. 2 singles slot 6-3, 6-4. This will be Louisville's second to last home match of the season.
Riding a six-match winning streak, the Cincinnati Bearcats will host Marquette on senior day, April 14. UC will have a packed schedule this weekend, welcoming Marshall (April 12, 2 p.m.) and DePaul (April 13, 12 p.m.) to Trabert-Talbert Tennis Center before playing the Golden Eagles on Sunday.
This is the final regular season stop before heading to Tampa to compete in the BIG EAST Tournament. This year's championship will be held April 18-21.
