MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University women’s tennis team will look to continue their five-match winning streak this weekend, as the Golden Eagles hit the road to take on Seton Hall on Friday, April 13 at 12 p.m. Central time and St. John’s on Sunday, April 15 at 11 a.m. CT.
Marquette (10-7) blanked Creighton 4-0 and took down Xavier 4-3 last weekend at the Helfaer Tennis Stadium. The match against Xavier came down to the very last court but Fleur Eggink clinched the win for the Golden Eagles.
Seton Hall (5-8) most recently fell to BIG EAST rival St. John’s last Friday by a 7-0 margin. The Golden Eagles have bested the Pirates in each of their last three matchups.
St. John’s (12-5) most recently swept Providence, 7-0 for its second consecutive sweep over a conference opponent. Jessica Livianu and Zofia Stanisz polished off a perfect evening of doubles play with a 6-3 win from the top spot. Marquette looks to best St. John’s for the first time in their last two years of play.
After this weekend’s action, the Golden Eagles will head home to conclude their regular season against DePaul on Saturday, April 21 at 1 p.m. CT.
