Women's Tennis Lands a Pair on the BIG EAST All-Tournament Team
April 25, 2007 PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Following the Marquette women's tennis team's fourth place finish at the BIG EAST Tournament in Tampa, Fla., MU's no. 1 doubles tandem of junior Shannon Brown and sophomore Lauren Little was named to the all-tournament team. The athletes were voted on by each institution's head coach who cannot vote for their own player at the conclusion of the tournament. The twosome faired well at the BIG EAST Tournament, going 2-0 at the top doubles slot. Brown and Little took down Rutgers' Katrina Elder-Bush and Katherine Arlak, 8-3, in the quarterfinals and defeated Louisville's Jo-Ann Aerde and Natalie Laszkowski, 8-4, in the third-place match. In conference play the duo turned in an even 2-2 record and were 10-10 overall in spring play.
