MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University women's tennis team held its annual postseason dinner and awards banquet Thursday night to honor the squad's 2011-12 accomplishments. Freshmen Ana Pimienta, Ally Dawson, sophomore Rocio Diaz, seniors Olga Fischer and Gillian Hush, and graduate student Tina Radan were honored for their work on and off the court.

Fischer and Hush were named the team's co-Most Valuable Players, Pimienta and Radan earned the Academic Award, and Dawson and Diaz shared the Dedication Award. Hush was also tabbed the MU's most improved player, while Radan earned the Sportsmanship Award.

The Golden Eagles finished the dual season 12-11 overall and finished tied for sixth at the BIG EAST Conference Championship.

Fischer, MU's first All-BIG EAST Team selection, led the team with a 19-12 singles record. She posted a 7-6 mark at No. 1 and a 6-2 total at No. 2 singles. Before succumbing to injury which kept Fischer out of the conference championship, she defeated DePaul's Patricia Fargas in her final match as a Golden Eagle.

Hush finished her career at Marquette ranked sixth on the all-time singles list with 81 wins and tied for fifth on the doubles list with 89 wins. Hush posted an overall record of 18-17, while playing at the Nos. 1, 2 and 3 singles positions. Hush and Fischer teamed to form a formidable doubles duo playing recording a 10-8 mark.

Both Fischer and Hush have posted at least 16 singles wins each season since the 2008-09 season.
