Women's Tennis Announces the 2013-14 Schedule

MILWAUKEE - Head Coach Jody Bronson and the Marquette University women's tennis team has announced the 2013-14 schedule for its fall and spring seasons.
The Golden Eagles will open up their fall season hosting the 38th Annual Milwaukee Tennis Classic at the Town Club in Fox Point, Wis., Sept. 13-15. MU will play in five additional road tournaments after the home opener, played throughout September, October and concluding in November 2013.
Marquette will open dual match play on Jan. 18-20 at Indiana University for the second consecutive season. MU will then play its home opener at Helfaer Stadium for a four-match home stand through February, taking on University of Illinois-Chicago (Jan. 25), in-state rival Wisconsin (Feb. 1), Valparaiso (Feb. 1) and Iowa State (Feb. 7).
The team heads to Kalamazoo, Mich., to play Western Michigan on Feb. 9, before another streak of home games against Iowa (Feb. 15), Green Bay (Feb. 15) and UW-Milwaukee (Feb. 19). The Golden Eagles conclude February on the road with a weekend in Indiana taking on Ball State (Feb. 22) and IUPUI-Fort Wayne (Feb. 23).
The Golden Eagles will host Big Ten opponent Minnesota at home on March 8, followed by a spring break trip to Las Vegas, N.V., for two road matches against UNLV and Ohio State on March 11 and March 14, respectively. MU will return home for a double header on the March 21 against Illinois State and IUPUI.
The Golden Eagles travel to the University of Notre Dame on March 26 in South Bend, Ind. The Irish finished the 2012 season in the top 25. March concludes with two home matches against new conference opponents Xavier (March 29) and Butler (March 30).
The squad will travel south to play Arkansas State (April 4) and Memphis (April 6) on the road in early April, host a doubleheader at Helfaer Stadium with Cincinatti and Chicago State on the 11, and then travel to Chicago for an afternoon match against DePaul on March 19 to round out the regular season. The Big East Championship will be held on April 24-27 in New York City.
The women's tennis team will play 13 of its 24 matches at home in 2014.
