MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University women's tennis team, which earned its highest BIG EAST Championship seed in program history last spring, released its 2014-15 schedule Thursday afternoon.
Head coach Jody Bronson and the Golden Eagles will host the 39th Annual Milwaukee Tennis Classic at the Town Club in Fox Point, Wisconsin on Sept. 12-14 to begin their fall season. The team will then travel to Air Force on Sept. 26-28 and Arizona on Oct. 3-5 for two road tournaments before visiting the University of Illinois for the 2014 ITA Regional Championships on Oct. 17-21.
Marquette will conclude its fall schedule on Nov. 7-9 at the Western Michigan University Super Challenge.
For the third season in a row, the Golden Eagles will travel to Bloomington, Indiana to open their spring season at the Indiana University Winter Invitational on Jan. 17-19. Milwaukee will then visit Helfaer Stadium for Marquette's home opener on the morning of Jan. 24, before the Golden Eagles host Bradley that evening. MU will play three more consecutive home matches against UIC (Jan. 31), Green Bay (Jan. 31) and Bowling Green (Feb. 6) over the following two weeks.
The Golden Eagles will embark on a three-match road trip against Wisconsin (Feb. 8), Indiana (Feb. 14) and Illinois (Feb. 15), then they will return home to take on Western Michigan and IUPUI on Feb. 21.
The team will play a pair of matches in Minneapolis against Iowa State and Minnesota on Feb. 28 and March 1, respectively, before traveling out west to take on Arizona State on March 10 and Grand Canyon University on March 12. Marquette will then host Illinois State on March 17 in its final non-conference home match of the season.
The Golden Eagles will start the BIG EAST portion of their schedule with road matches against Xavier (March 21), Cincinnati (March 22) and Butler (March 28) before taking a break from conference play to visit Notre Dame on March 29 and Florida Gulf Coast on April 5.
