MILWAUKEE--The final day of competition at the 38th Annual Milwaukee Tennis Classic was forced inside due to a steady rain in the Milwaukee area on Sunday. Men's competition concluded at Helfaer Tennis Stadium on Marquette's campus, while women's squads played at Elite Sports Club in Glendale, Wis.

The MU women fell to Western Michigan in doubles action to open the day's competition, but rebounded in singles action with an impressive sweep over Colorado State. Junior Ana Pimienta came from behind in the No. 1 position to top Natalie Heffron from CSU, 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (8). Pimienta lost just one singles match in the entire three-day competition.

Marquette's men's squad opened the day with a doubles victory over Air Force on the familiar courts of Helfaer. The top duo of juniors Cameron Tehrani and Vukasin Teofanovic won, 8-3, while sophomore Gleb Skylr and senior Logon Collins teamed up for an 8-6 victory in the No. 2 position.

The Golden Eagles were then upended by Wisconsin, 4-2 in singles action. Tehrani held on for a 6-4, 5-7, 1-0 (10-7) victory in the No. 3 spot, while freshman Krystiyan Trukov took a 7-6, 6-1 decision in the No. 6 position.

MU's women will be off until the end of the month when they travel to California for the All-American Pre-Qualifying tournament beginning Friday, Sept. 27. The men will be in action next weekend at the Purdue Invitational beginning Friday, Sept. 20 in Lafayette, Ind.
