MILWAUKEE- The Marquette University women's tennis team will hit the court again this weekend, Sept. 26-28, when the squad travels to Colorado Springs, Colorado to participate in the United States Air Force Academy Invitational.

Marquette will be one of the eight schools competing in the three-day long competition. The rest of the field includes Colorado State, Northern Colorado, Wyoming, Arkansas State, Miami-Ohio and Utah State, as well as the host, Air Force Academy.

The Golden Eagles will look to carry on the success from last weekend's Milwaukee Tennis Classic.

At the Milwaukee Tennis Classic, MU claimed three match victories led by Erin Gebes, Vanessa Foltinger and Ali Dawson in singles play. Gebes went 6-2, 2-6, 7-5 at the No. 2 singles spot while Foltinger finished 7-6, 6-2. Dawson came from behind in one of her sets to finish off the tournament at No. 3 singles 4-6, 7-6, 6-4. The squad also debuted new doubles teams, which proved successful as the No. 1 team of Gebes and Ana Pimienta finished as the champion runner-ups. The pair's only loss came to South Carolina (8-5).

After this weekend, the Golden Eagles head to Tucson, Arizona where MU will compete in the Wildcat Invitational Oct. 3-5. Marquette will not play at home again until January.
