Marquette Heads to Bloomington for Hoosier Classic

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Marquette University women’s tennis team will continue its fall 2015 campaign this weekend, when they head to Bloomington, Ind., to compete in the Hoosier Classic at the IU Varsity Tennis Courts.

The tournament, which runs from Friday the 25th through Sunday the 27th, will include Marquette, Western Michigan, Cincinnati, and Cleveland State, along with the host, Indiana.

This marks the first time that Marquette will participate in the tournament, with draws to be released later this week.

Friday’s matchups will feature the first round of singles play, beginning at 9:30 a.m. CT, as well as the first and second rounds of doubles play, which are slated to start at 1:00. The doubles portion of the tournament will conclude Saturday with 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. starts, while the singles side will carry into Sunday with the final set of matches beginning at 9:00 a.m.

All matches are scheduled to take place outdoors, though play is subject to move indoors should weather permit.

Following the Hoosier Classic, the Golden Eagles will head to Tucson, Ariz., to compete in the Arizona Wildcat Invitational, which begins the weekend of Oct. 2nd.
