MILWAUKEE - The Marquette women's tennis team will close out its fall portion of the season this weekend at the 2008 Wilson/ITA Midwest Regional Championship hosted by Michigan State University. Sophomore Rachael Hush will represent MU in the main draw, while senior Robin Metzler, sophomore Christina Ruiz and freshman Paola Calderon will each look to earn a berth in the main draw by first competing in the qualifying draw.
"The players are looking forward to this opportunity to compete at the regional championships against the top players in the Midwest," said head coach Jody Bronson. "They are excited to play and see their improvement since the start of the fall season. We have a young group that was selected, but we look forward to seeing what they can do here. We have not played since late September and I know the players are ready to compete again.
