Evan Muys

Evan Muys is in his first season as a volunteer assistant coach for the Marquette University women's volleyball team.

Muys coached the 1st Alliance Volleyball Club 17 Silver team for the past three seasons where he led his team to three consecutive top 18 finishes in the open level at the USA Volleyball Girls' Junior National Championships. Muys held private lessons all three years and led defensive position practices for two of the three as coach for 1st Alliance.

The Orland Park, Ill., native attended St. Xavier University in Chicago, where he played two years of collegiate volleyball as an opposite-outside hitter. He ranks fifth all-time in kills with 328 and fourth all-time in digs and blocks with 276 and 118, respectively. Muys holds the school record for kills in a match with 23 and was a two-time all-conference honoree as a Cougar.

Muys graduated from SXU in August of 2013 with a bachelor's degree in biology.
