2011 (Freshman):Had the most successful freshman season in Marquette volleyball history ... AVCA All-America Honorable Mention ... AVCA Northeast Region Freshman of the Year ... AVCA All-Northeast Region ...BIG EAST Freshman of the Year ... All-BIG EAST Second Team ...Ended the season seventh in NCAA Division I with 11.89 assists per set ... Notched 49 assists to lead the Marquette offense along with seven digs in NCAA first round win over Western Kentucky (Dec. 2) ... Had a career-high 64 assists in Marquette's semifinal loss to Cincinnati (Nov. 19) as MU hit .307 against the Bearcats ... Helped MU hit .385 against Notre Dame Garnered fourth BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honors on Oct. 31 after helping MU sweep Pittsburgh (Oct. 29) and West Virginia (Oct. 30) ... Tallied 42 assists in MU's sweep at St. John's (Oct. 2) ... Had 53 assists and seven digs in Marquette's BIG EAST opening win over USF (Sept. 25) ... Recorded a career-best 57 assists in 3-2 loss to No. 9 Minnesota (Sept. 18) ... Notched 40 assists and seven digs in sweep of Milwaukee (Sept. 10), along with three service aces in the first set alone ... Named the BIG EAST Conference Freshman of the Week on Sept. 5 after leading MU to victories over South Dakota and Creighton at the Bluejay Invitational ... Turned in a then-career-best 56 assists and helped MU hit .345 as a team in a tough four-set loss to Northern Illinois (Sept. 3) ... Earned all-tournament honors at the Hawkeye Challenge after averaging 10.55 assists and 2.55 digs in the first three matches of her collegiate career ... Notched 48 assists to go along with nine digs in Hawkeye Challenge finale against Iowa (Aug. 27) ... Recorded 16 digs in first collegiate match against Saint Louis (Aug. 26).
High School: Heier was a three-time letter winner in volleyball at San Clemente High School where she played for head coach Rob O'Rear ...Named to the All-South Coast League First Team in both her junior and senior seasons with the Tritons... Team's most valuable player in both 2009 and 2010 as well as league MVP during her senior campaign... Set a school record with 3,051 career assists and a single season assist record with 1,058 as a senior in 2010 ... Ranked fourth nationally in assists per game with 11.6 per set, according to MaxPreps.com ... The Tritons went 68-24 in her high school career ... As a senior captain she led the Tritons to a league championship with an unblemished conference record and to the CIF Quarterfinals with an overall record of 28-5 ... MaxPreps ranked the Tritons No. 62 in the nation in 2010.
Personal: Heier was born in Lubbock, Texas to Brad and Gwen Heier and has two sisters, Ashley and Meagan... Plans to major in exercise science... Played for coaches Kelly Mulvany and Ki Yi and the Saddleback Valley Volleyball Club.
