BIG EAST All-Academic (2013)
2013: Notched 12 kills in a five-set win over Illinois State (Sept. 25) ... Recorded 18 kills and hit .455 in a five set win at DePaul (Sept. 28) ... Recorded a season-high 23 kills in a 3-1 victory at Butler (Nov.1) ... Notched 20 kills in a four-set victory at Xavier (Nov. 2) ... Tabbed 11 kills in 3-1 victory over Xavier (Nov. 22)... Recorded 18 kills for the second time this season in a 3-1 victory over Butler (Nov. 23) ... Named All-BIG EAST Championship after averaging 4.25 kills per set and hitting .460 as MU captured its first tournament title with wins over Butler (11/29) and Creighton (11/30) ... Notched 18 kills and hit .500 in the BIG EAST semifinal victory over Butler and 16 kills on .419 hitting against Creighton in the title match.
Prior to Marquette: Barber graduated from Schul- und Leistungssportzentrum Berlin (Education and Sports Centre Berlin), one of 39 German Eliteschule des Sports ...Competed for the German Junior National Team and represented Germany in more than 80 international youth and junior matches from 2010-13 ... Barber and her junior national teammates competed in the German Bundesliga Frauen with VC Olympia '93 Berlin for head coach Han Abbing ... Was team captain of VCO Berlin in 2010 and 2011, in addition to serving as co-captain of the youth and junior national teams she competed on from 2010-13 ... Barber competed for Germany in the 2012 CEV Junior Volleyball European Championship and averaged 2.33 kills per set over 15 matches, while hitting a combined .320. Barber also notched 10 aces during the tournament and ranked 12th with 142 total points ... As a 16-year old, she competed with the German U-19 team in the 2011 FIVB Volleyball Girls' Youth World Championship in Ankara, Turkey ... She helped the Germans to a fifth-place finish in that event, while finishing the tournament with 15 kills and 14 digs ... She also led the Germans to a fourth-place finish in the 2011 CEV Youth Volleyball European Championship.
Personal: Barber was born in Berlin and is the daughter of Martin Barber and Maren Blaschke ... Has four siblings, one older and three younger ... Competed in gymnastics before picking up volleyball.
