High School: Smith was a two-year letter winner in volleyball at East Kentwood High School where she played for head coach Desirae Hemmes...While serving as captain of the Falcons during her senior season, EKHS was the Ottawa-Kent Red Conference runner-up as well as the district and regional champions ... She recorded 721 digs and 65 service aces in 2010 as the Falcons reached the Class A state semifinals... Smith received the Bud Cole Award from EKHS, honoring her academic achievements... She was an all-academic team member and honor student...Smith received the O.K. Red Conference Scholar-Athlete Award.
