Ciara Jones' 18 Kills Lead Marquette Past UW Milwaukee, 3-0

MILWAUKEE - Junior outside hitter Ciara Jones recorded a career-high 18 kills to lead the Marquette University women's volleyball team past UW Milwaukee, 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-20), Saturday evening at the Al McGuire Center.
With the victory, Marquette improves to 4-4 on the season, while the Panthers fall to 3-7. Earlier in the day, UW Milwaukee had defeated Toledo in straight sets at the Klotsche Center.
In addition to Jones' 18 kills, Ashley Beyer had 12 kills and eight digs for Marquette, while Nikki Klingsporn continued her stellar play with 42 assists, eight digs and four blocks. The Panthers were paced by eight kills and 11 digs from Elizabeth Schmitting.
Freshman Rachel Stier donned the libero jersey for the first time in her career and led MU with 14 digs. Redshirt sophomore Holly Mertens saw her first action of the season and recorded three kills on the night.
