MILWAUKEE-- The Marquette University women's volleyball team bounced back from its loss on Friday to post a commanding 3-0 (25-16, 25-13, 25-21) sweep over Albany on Saturday afternoon in the second day of the Marquette Invitational.

Redshirt freshman Taylor Louis posted her second consecutive double-double with 12 kills and 10 digs for the Golden Eagles (7-4), while redshirt junior Meghan Niemann tallied nine kills with no errors to hit .600. Junior Joy Miley and redshirt freshman Jenna Rosenthal added eight and seven kills, respectively, while Rosenthal also put up six blocks. Junior Sara Blasier handed out a match-high 35 assists and junior Lauren Houg collected 17 digs.

Albany (5-6) had three players each post seven kills, while Nicole Otero and Laini Leindecker recorded 17 and 11 digs, respectively.

After making quick work of the Great Danes in the first two sets, Marquette allowed Albany to come back with a pair of runs in the third set. Albany took a 20-19 lead, but Niemann evened the score at 20 each with kill before the Golden Eagles used a 5-1 run to close out the match.

Marquette will host IUPUI in the final match of the Marquette Invitational at 7:00 p.m. CT this evening at the Al McGuire Center.
