Oct. 11, 2015
OMAHA, Neb.--The Marquette University women's volleyball team faltered on the road at Creighton on Sunday, dropping a 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-16) decision to the Bluejays at D.J. Sokol Arena.
Redshirt freshman Taylor Louis led MU (12-7, 4-3) offensively with nine kills, while junior Joy Miley posted six. Meghan Niemann, Jenna Rosenthal, Sara Blasier and Teal Schnurr each tallied four kills, while Blasier hit .571 and dished out 24 assists. Junior Lauren Houg collected 13 digs.
Creighton (13-7, 7-0) was led by Jaali Winters with a match-high 23 kills.
"Some losses are about little things and I think today this loss had to do with some bigger things," head coach Ryan Theis said. "We've got to find a way to put all of the pieces together to turn our play into some wins. One game we will be good at one thing and bad at another, but game two could be a different story in any given match."
Marquette will return home for a five-match home stretch and will play seven of the next eight at the Al McGuire Center. The Golden Eagles host Providence on Friday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. CT.
