Marquette Cruises Past Milwaukee, 3-0

MILWAUKEE--The Marquette University women's volleyball team put a final stamp on a five-match homestand with a straight set, 25-20, 25-13, 25-18 victory over Milwaukee on Monday night at the Al McGuire Center. The Golden Eagles went 5-0 through the home stretch and have now won five straight matches.
Junior libero Lauren Houg had a memorable night with a season-high 24 digs and reached her 1,000th-career dig in the first set of the night. She became Marquette's eighth player to reach 1,000 digs and is now eighth on the all-time digs list.
Setter Sara Blasier tallied her eighth double-double of the season with a match-high 39 assists and 10 digs, while reigning BIG EAST Freshman of the Week Taylor Louis led the offensive charge connecting on 14 digs and hit .297. Teal Schnurr smashed nine kills with just one error and hit .500 in the match, while Jenna Rosenthal also hit .500 with eight kills and Meghan Niemann added a .429 clip with four blocks.
The Golden Eagles (17-7) had another successful hitting match with a .318 clip and just 12 errors in the match, while holding the Panthers to just a .097 attacking percentage. Marquette also held the edge in digs with 65 to Milwaukee's 44 combined helping to its 10th straight victory over the crosstown-foe in the all-time series.
Milwaukee (6-18) was led by Maggie Dunbar with 12 kills.
Marquette will travel to BIG EAST travel partner DePaul on Saturday, Oct. 31 to face the Blue Demons. First serve is slated for 7 p.m. Central time in Chicago.
