PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Marquette University women's volleyball team earned a swift 3-0 (25-20, 25-10, 25-19) sweep at Providence on Sunday evening at Alumni Hall.

The Golden Eagles (18-8, 12-3) were led by sophomore Allie Barber with 14 kills and a .423 hitting percentage, while junior Anna Haak totaled nine kills, while classmate Jenna Rosenthal connected on eight kills with six digs.

Sophomore Lauren Speckman dished out 34 assists, while freshman Martha Konovodoff collected 18 digs. MU combined for 54 digs, while the Friars (16-13, 5-9) tallied just 41.

Marquette claimed the first set, 25-20 behind four and three kills from Barber and Rosenthal, respectively. The second set was tied 3-3 before the Golden Eagles went on a 9-0 run, taking a 12-3 lead. Providence responded with four straight points, but MU used an 8-1 run to close out the set and won with ease, 25-10.

In the third set, MU and the Friars traded a pair of 4-0 runs and the set was close throughout the end, but the Golden Eagles finished with a 25-19 win to take the sweep.

Providence was led by Cayla Veverka and Addision Root, each with seven kills. Setter Allison Barber compiled a double-double with 23 assists and 11 digs.

Marquette returns home for its final regular season home matches, hosting Georgetown on Friday, Nov. 10 at 5 p.m. Central time before welcoming Villanova on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 6 CT, which will also serve as senior night.
