MILWAUKEE – Marquette University senior setter Elizabeth Koberstein continued to compile post-season accolades with Volleyball Magazine All-America Third Team honors, the publication announced last week.

Koberstein, the second two-time AVCA All-American in Marquette history, became the first to earn mention on one of the AVCA’s top three All-America teams with third team honors in December.

The 2013 BIG EAST Player of the Year led the Golden Eagles to league-best marks in hitting percentage, assists and kills, while ranking third individually in the nation in assists per set at 12.18 per frame. The Madison, Wis., native ends her career fourth in Marquette history with 2,868 assists.

The No. 23 Golden Eagles went 26-6 overall in 2013 and a program-best 15-1 in BIG EAST Conference play on their way to league regular season and tournament titles. They also made their third-straight trip to the NCAA Championship and advanced to the second round for the second time.

The Volleyball Magazine NCAA Women’s All-American lists are compiled through votes submitted by coaches, media and sports information directors from around the country.
