MILWAUKEE--Marquette University volleyball players Meghan Niemann, Taylor Louis, Jenna Rosenthal and Amanda Green will attend tryouts for the U.S. Women’s National Team this weekend at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.

Tryouts are for spots on U.S. Women’s National Team, U.S. Collegiate National Teams program and U.S. Junior National Team with 231 athletes from 88 colleges and universities taking part. Three-time Olympic gold medalist and U.S. Olympic Hall of Famer Karch Kiraly and the U.S. Women’s National Team staff will lead the tryout process Feb. 19-21. Selected athletes will be notified by early March. USA Volleyball will announce the selections by the end of March once all roster spots are confirmed.

“I believe it's a great experience, especially for our young players that want to go on to play professionally to take part in this experience,” head coach Ryan Theis said. “I know they are excited to get out there and compete.”

Louis and Rosenthal took part in the tryouts last season with Rosenthal earning a spot on the U.S. Collegiate National Team.

Louis and Niemann were All-BIG EAST first team selections in 2015, while Rosenthal set a Marquette single-season record with 133 block assists. Green redshirted the 2015 campaign.

Marquette finished with a 22-12 record and advanced to the second round of its fifth consecutive NCAA Tournament.
