Feb. 24, 2017
MILWAUKEE- Marquette University volleyball student-athlete Jenna Rosenthal will showcase her abilities at the tryouts for the U.S. Women's National Team from March 3-5 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.
The tryouts are for places on rosters of the U.S. Women's National Team, the U.S. Collegiate National Teams program and the U.S. Junior National Team. 244 athletes from 81 colleges and 10 high schools will attend the tryouts, which will be led by three-time Olympic gold medalist and U.S. Olympic Hall of Famer Karch Kiraly and the U.S. Women's National Team Staff. USA Volleyball will announce the selections by the end of March once all roster spots are confirmed.
Rosenthal, who will be participating in the tryouts for the third consecutive year, competed with the U.S. Collegiate National Team last season.
The Fond du Lac, Wis., native earned All-BIG EAST First Team honors following her sophomore campaign with the Golden Eagles in 2016, and was also named to the AVCA All-East Coast Region Team by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. Last year, Rosenthal posted a league-best .416 hitting percentage, while recording 1.41 blocks per contest in BIG EAST play.
Marquette finished the 2016 season with a 23-9, 13-5 record, and reached the NCAA Volleyball Championship for the sixth straight season, but were eliminated in the tournament's first round by Washington State.
