MILWAUKEE — The Marquette University women's volleyball team continues its spring season when it welcomes Loyola-Chicago, Northern Illinois and Milwaukee to the Al McGuire Center on Saturday, April 5, for a four-team round robin-style tournament.

"We are certainly not going to be able to change much, nor do we want to be too reactive off of results and events in the spring," first-year Marquette head coach Ryan Theis said of transition from Wednesday's drills against Wisconsin to Saturday's tournament. "The big thing is just continuing to see if they are applying what we’re learning in games. They’ve been applying it in practice; like I said at the end of Michigan State and Wisconsin we saw it. Hopefully we are increasing the consistency of what we are working on, and getting better at it.

"I thought we played much better Wednesday than we did on Saturday, and it isn’t just about two days of practice. In fact we couldn’t go that hard just from Saturday to Wednesday but I was just really pleased with the improvement that they have shown over three weeks."

The Golden Eagles begin the day with a matchup against Loyola-Chicago at 10 a.m. and then square off against Northern Illinois at 11 a.m. MU will finish off competition with Milwaukee at noon.
