Volleyball With Final Spring Action at Great Lakes Center

MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University women's volleyball team returns to spring action Saturday, April 14 at the Great Lakes Center's Collegiate Challenge in Aurora, Ill. Marquette will begin action in Pool C with Big Ten foes, Iowa and Michigan State.

At 8:30 a.m. on Saturday the Golden Eagles will take on head coach Bond Shymansky's alma mater, the Iowa Hawkeyes. Marquette defeated Iowa during the 2011 fall campaign, 3-1, in Iowa City on April 27.

The Golden Eagles will take on Michigan State at 10:45 a.m. as the Spartans are coming off a 22-12 record in the fall campaign.

Depending on how they fare in pool C the Golden Eagles will advance to either the gold, silver, or bronze championship pools, with match play concluding on Saturday.

Admission is $5 for the entire day of competition.
