Volleyball Travels to Minnesota for Spring Tournament
MILWAUKEE -- The Marquette volleyball team continues its spring season on Sunday, April 20, when it travels to Minnesota for the Minnesota Spring Tournament. All matches will be played at the Sports Pavilion.
The Golden Eagles will play in three shortened matches on the day against Minnesota, Iowa State and head coach Pati Rolf's alma mater North Dakota State. All three matches will consist of three sets played to 25 points. Marquette will face the Golden Gophers to start off the tournament at 8:30 a.m., and will take on the Cyclones at 11:30 a.m., to wrap up the morning session. In the afternoon session, The Golden Eagles will face North Dakota State at 3:10 p.m. Marquette comes off a 4-1 loss to the Wisconsin in which the Golden Eagles were able experiment with different lineups and allow newcomer Laira Akin to get accustomed to the college game. Minnesota went 2-1 last Saturday at the Iowa State Spring Tournament by defeating Iowa State and Northern Iowa before falling to Creighton. Iowa State went 2-1 on the day as well. Marquette will then wrap up their spring season next Sunday at the Al McGuire Center. Opponents have yet to be announced. Schedule of matches
