Volleyball Appears At Opening Day of Summerfest


The volleyball program has released its summer camp dates for 2009. This year the team will host five separate camps, each with a different focus, and be held at the following dates at the Al McGuire Center:

July 6-9 FUNdamental Camp

Boys and Girls, Grades 3-8

$180 (includes lunch)

9:00 - 4:00 PM Daily

This is a camp for boys and girls who want to have fun while learning the basic skills of volleyball. We will instill good volleyball techniques and habits in aspiring volleyball players to encourage them to gain great passion for the sport. The athletes will be trained in all areas of the game including serving, hitting, blocking, passing, setting and digging. Participants will be divided into teams determined by age and skill level for a fun and balanced experience. This camp includes a lunch every day, Marquette Volleyball t-shirt and complimentary admission for several matches this fall.

 

July 17-19 Team Camp

Girls and Boys JV and Varsity Teams

$195-Overnight Campers

$140-Day Campers 

This camp is designed for your team to grow and learn through training and match play. Competition will be for three sessions each day and your team will be challenged by great opponents. We will also provide opportunities for team building and bonding, as well as educational sessions on being recruited and the experience of a college student athlete. At the start of each session we will divide the boys and girls teams. All overnight campers will stay in Cobeen Hall. There will be separate floors for the male and female campers with 24 hour supervision. Team camp includes all meals, an MU t-shirt and complimentary admission for several MU matches this fall. 


 

 

 8 Guaranteed Matches 

 Each must have at least 8 players 

 One coach per team will have complimentary room and board in Cobeen Hall 

 A questionnaire will be sent requesting team system and technique information 

DAY 1 4:00 - 9:30 PM

DAY 2 9:00 AM - 9:30 PM

DAY 3 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM 

 

 

July 20-22 Soar Individual Camp

Girls and Boys 8th - 12th Grade 

$300-Overnight Campers 

$230-Day Campers 

9:00 AM - 9:00 PM DAILY 

This camp is an excellent opportunity for players to get detailed technical instruction in all areas of the game. Our staff will ensure a solid base of knowledge in every skill, with a particular focus in your position. Athletes will be divided by gender and by skill level at the start of each session. The camp is great for players of all levels of experience. All overnight campers will stay in Cobeen Hall. Boys and girls will be housed on separate floors with chaperones. All meals are included, as are an MU t-shirt and complimentary admission for several MU matches this fall. 

 


July 23-25 Specialized Skill Camp

Girls and Boys 9th - 12th Grade 

$300 Overnight Campers 

$230 Day Campers 

9:00 AM - 9:00 PM DAILY 

This camp is designed to push and instruct the individual player with advanced techniques and training. We will train players in their selected position for three rigorous sessions per day. Athletes will be divided by gender and by skill at the start of each session. All overnight campers will stay in Cobeen Hall. Boys and girls will be housed on separate floors with chaperones. All meals are included in the camp, as are an MU t-shirt and complimentary admission for several MU matches this fall.
