Pati Rolf Inducted Into Hopkins (Minn.) High School Inaugural Hall of Fame Class
May 11, 2006 Minneapolis, Minn. - Marquette head volleyball coach Pati Rolf was inducted to Hopkins (Minn.) High School's first Hall of Fame class on Sunday, May 8. Rolf joins 12 former Hopkins High School student-athletes and coaches in the inaugural class. "This is truly an honor. For them to feel I was worthy to be among these great athletes and coaches who were true pioneers of sports, especially women's sports, is almost overwhelming," Rolf said. "Everyone on this list is deserving of this honor. That high school has come such a long way since I was there, it is amazing." Rolf was a multi-sport letterwinner in the early 1980s at Hopkins and earned the Athena Award as Hopkins' top female athlete. She participated in four sports during her high school campaign. After high school, Rolf was a four-year volleyball letterwinner at North Dakota State University (1981-84). As a senior, she captained her team while gaining NCAA Division II All-Region and All-North Central Conference honors. She distinguished herself in the classroom as well, earning NCC All-Academic honors twice. By the time her career had concluded, she had set a Division II career record for matches played (239). Rolf recorded NDSU career marks in service aces and matches played and single-season marks for block solos and service aces. In October of 1999, she was inducted into the NDSU Athletic Hall of Fame. Rolf will be entering her fifth season at the helm of the Golden Eagles in the fall. After helping Marquette to back-to-back winning seasons for the first time in Division I history with a 17-13 record in 2005, Rolf has a record of 66-52 at Marquette and 376-221 in 18 years of coaching.
